We always recommend the best solutions for your situation.  Some times that includes a full chimney replacement or just a partial rebuild.  We need to make sure there is a solid foundation so that you won't have to have another rebuild in the future.  Brick can be loose and deteriorated and we will remove that until the masonry is solid and rebuild from there with new brick and mortar.

You may have bricks that have cracks and splits in your chimney. These bricks must be removed by grinding out any falling mortar and then carefully removing the damaged bricks.  We will then add new brick and fresh mortar as a replacement.  These bricks will of course match your current design perfectly.
